Certification Services of Forest Management Systems
PEFC GFS certification – Sustainably Forest Management – is a tool to ensure that products come from forests managed according to sustainability criteria : reference standards require a management according to plans that safeguard and develop this resource and related ones, for example animal species present. Sustainably forest management provides for the maintenance of a number of protection functions that forests play regularly against climate, soil and water.
PEFC set standard for the management of particular types of trees for wood, such as poplar plantations , and has in preparation for the development for further types .
PEFC GFS or PEFC GSA certification:
• is a guarantee of a responsible forest management
• allows to work with Public Administrations and private company, which ask for products coming from forests managed according to these programs
• provides access to the appropriations made available by some Regions to promote responsible management of forest resources
• is a valuable support in implementing the System Due Diligence required by Reg . 995/2010 EU (timber regulation)
